How to never miss a renewal again

27 October 2026

A missed renewal usually costs more than the renewal itself: a lapsed insurance policy, a domain that someone else registers, or a late fee. They happen because the due date lives only in your head, or in an email you never reopened.

Put every due date in one place

List everything that repeats: vehicle and health insurance, rent, EMIs, phone and internet plans, subscriptions, domains, licences and certificates. Add the next due date and how often it repeats.

Remind early, and more than once

One reminder on the day is too late for anything that needs a document or a payment you must arrange. Use a long lead for big items, such as 30 days before for an annual policy, then 7 days, 1 day and the day itself.

Close the loop when you pay

When you pay, mark it renewed. A good tracker logs the payment as an expense and moves the due date forward on the same rhythm, so the next reminder is already set.

Look a year ahead

A 12-month view shows which months are heavy. If three annual premiums land in the same month, you can plan for it instead of being surprised.
